Dear Friend,
Every year over ten thousand people in the CSRA have their lives stolen by Alzheimer’s disease, and an equal number suffer from other forms of dementia. Caregivers as well as patients need a place of respite and safety to escape the ravages of this disease, even if just for a few hours. Every dollar you give to the Jud C. Hickey Center for Alzheimer’s Care goes directly to this facility which can lift the heavy burden of this disease which affects patients and caregivers alike. The Center also provides affordable home care services.
My Mother was affected by Alzheimer’s disease and I know from personal experience the devastating effects of this relentlessly progressive condition. My husband, Tom Swift, MD, is a neurologist and has been treating Alzheimer’s patients for 44 years. For these reasons I volunteered to join the Board of Directors of the Jud C. Hickey Center for Alzheimer’s Care.
I urge you to support this worthy endeavor. You might consider a donation in the name of your friends to whom you otherwise might give holiday gifts. The Center will notify those named with a letter of acknowledgment of you as the donor. All donations are tax- deductible.
The Jud C. Hickey Center is a local charity helping local patients and their families. May you and your family have a wonderful Holiday season. Your generosity is so very much appreciated.
Sincerely,
Margaret E. Brown
